I was eager to do a winter related skull art for weeks. I came across some lily flowers on my home street and the idea started to take shape in my head. At first I was thinking about doing the skulls of lily flowers but that would not be very winterly, right? Then I started doing some sketches and the branches were the most visible parts be cause a lot of flowers had to be dry and gone. So I decided, the skull must be done with branches and the flowers will provide a final touch. Watercolour would be perfect for this art because of the textures and ink stains. Leonardo is natural white, acid free, lightfast and extremely resistant to ageing. The Pads are glued and gauzed to ensure flatness when wet. The heavy weight of this paper with its smooth, harmonious surface structure offers excellent flow of colour and ensures high brightness.
